Trading with Limes

Faircycle's killer feature is its unique trading system that levels the pitch for everyone. Although Faircycle members can freecycle as normal, the are encouraged to attach a "green" value to each item they offer or request - we call them Limes and they are a form of virtual currency. They have no value outside of Faircycle's world because they cannot be exchanged: in fact, it's against our terms to try to do so.

Limes allow people to attach a recycled value to items that other people may have or find a use for. Each new member gets 50 limes to enable them to instantly start trading. The only way to get more limes is to Faircycle your own stuff.
